The Better Sports Club welcomed Dave Johnson to the podium for the April gathering. Dave has entertained us every day for years as the morning sports anchor for WTOP.

​Dave is a three-time recipient of the A.I.R. award for the best radio sportscaster in D.C. and has won numerous awards for best writing for WTOP sports commentaries as well as an Emmy as the host of the Washington Capitals' "Face Off" television show.

In his presentation, Dave often referred to sporting events as opportunities for friends and family to gather together and enjoy rooting for their teams. "Sporting events are a cocoon of joy. You can spend two-and-a-half hours with your friends screaming with joy. These kinds of connections are how we make a difference."
