JAMES BADAS
Senior Director of Baseball Operations - Washington Nationals
The BSC is kicking the year off right with a visit from James Badas of the Washington Nationals! James serves as the Senior Director of Baseball Operations for the Nats. His career with the organization began in May 2017 as an intern, and over time James has held various roles such as analyst, senior analyst, and assistant director. In his current capacity, he contributes to the team's administrative and logistical oversight, which typically involves managing player transactions, scouting, and the integration of research and development into team strategy.
Before establishing his career in Major League Baseball, James gained diverse experience in sports media and analytics. He worked as a researcher and production associate for NBC Sports Group, where he supported coverage of high-profile events such as the Rio 2016 and Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Games. Additionally, he honed his data skills as an intern for TrackMan Baseball, where he conducted statistical analysis and implemented tracking technology for various amateur organizations.
James graduated from Yale University in 2017 with a degree in Political Science. During his time at Yale, he was deeply involved in sports journalism, serving as the sports editor for the Yale Daily News and working as a play-by-play broadcaster for the Ivy League Digital Network.
Please join us as we welcome James to Arlington for a fun and informative night to talk all-things Washington Nationals! A reception with a cash bar will open at 6:15pm, followed by dinner at 7pm.
